However, many Christians struggle with mental health issues and may not know how to seek help. This is where therapy can be a powerful tool in getting Christians to accept God's plan for their mental health.
Therapy is not just for those with diagnosed mental health disorders. It can also be beneficial for those experiencing daily stressors, relationship issues, or simply seeking personal growth. By seeking therapy, Christians can learn to rely on God's strength to overcome their struggles and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their faith.
It is important to note that therapy does not replace faith in God, but rather complements it. Seeking help for mental health struggles can be a sign of strength and trust in God's plan for our lives. Johnny is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma and Texas. He is the owner of the Christian Counseling practice, Truth & Grace Counseling. Johnny is also a host of the podcast Faithfully Engaged. Johnny interviews guests on Faithfully Engaged who are engaging in culture instead of living in anger and apathy.
Being a conservative and a Christian is not very common in the counseling field. I found myself saying "conservative Christian counselors should be more vocal about their values." Through conviction I eventually created Truth & Grace Counseling. Instead of acting like a "blank slate" I reveal my values to my clients. I have found having an appropriate level of self disclosure actually lessens imposing these values on clients. Instead, I am helping clients make an informed consent of the worldview they want presented from their counselor.
From there, I made the Truth & Grace Counseling Podcast. While this has been a great show, I am now separating the podcast from my podcast and rebranding it as "Faithfully Engaged." This show is focused on engaging culture instead of living in anger and apathy. I also have plans of adding personal development services to the Faithfully Engaged brand as well.
